Mr. Karon’s practice focuses on the trial and appeal of complex personal injury cases and general civil litigation. He has a national practice representing persons injured by defective amusement rides and has tried wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, toxic tort, product liability, professional negligence, business fraud, general negligence, and criminal cases and argued appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
Mr. Karon has been asked to speak on product liability issues at national conventions of the American Association for Justice (f/k/a The Association of Trial Lawyers of America). He was selected for the list of 2008 Massachusetts Super Lawyers® published in Boston Magazine.
Mr. Karon is on the Board of Governors of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and is also a member of the American Association for Justice, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Boston Bar Association. He is a Pre-Trial Case Conferencer in the Boston Municipal Court and a frequent judge for moot court competitions conducted by the Boston University School of Law.
Mr. Karon is a 1986 cum laude graduate of the Boston University School of Law where he was invited to participate in the Homer S. Albers honors moot court competition and was offered membership on the Probate Law Journal. He received the American Jurisprudence Award for excellence in Constitutional Law studies and was designated a G. Joseph Tauro Scholar; a Paul J. Liacos Scholar; and an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar. He was also a member of the Law School’s Trial Advocacy Team.
Mr. Karon is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Michigan, United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Mr. Dalimonte has extensive litigation and trial experience in products liability and toxic torts. He was one of the first trial lawyers in the Commonwealth to argue the admissibility of expert testimony at a Daubert hearing. He has tried cases to verdict and successfully resolved others through mediation. Mr. Dalimonte has argued appeals before the Massachusetts Court of Appeals and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
Prior to forming his own firm, Mr. Dalimonte supervised a nationwide effort to collect and analyze data for strategic use in the nationwide asbestos personal injury litigation. As such, he oversaw and coordinated local counsel and more than five hundred paralegals throughout the United States. He also supervised processing a global settlement of over 50,000 asbestos cases. Mr. Dalimonte brings a sophisticated business perspective to his practice. As the president of a closely held export company, he was invited by the (then) Soviet government to participate in a medical products trade mission to Moscow and Kiev. As part of this mission, Mr. Dalimonte represented his company in discussions with American and Soviet officials and with business leaders from around the world. He is also a former member of the Board of Trustees of North Adams State College.
Mr. Dalimonte is a 1989 graduate of the Marquette University Law School, where he was a member of the Law Review. He was awarded the Adolf I. Mendelker Scholarship for combined achievement in legal studies and community service and also received the American Jurisprudence Award for excellence in the study of Civil Procedure. While an undergraduate, Mr. Dalimonte studied the British criminal justice system at Oxford University.
Mr. Dalimonte is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Federal District Court for the District of Massachusetts, Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the United States Court of Claims. He maintains active membership in the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
